Michael Gravelle, Minister of Northern Development and Mines and Chair of NOHF, was at the Library on January 13 to announce that the library has been granted $439,492 for the Fort Frances Technology Center. Also at the presentation was Deputy Major Sharon Tibbs, and Library Board Chair Joyce Cunningham.

The need for a new library and technology centre was recognized back in 2003, but it wasn't until Feb.2007 that the this dream became a reality when the Ontario Ministry of Culture pledged $1.6 million to the project. Since then the "Building for the Future" campaign has raised over $835,000.
