Facebook

Facebook is a social networking site where individuals can connect with friends and family members. You can search your email address to see which of your contacts are members on Facebook. ('Facebook users' or 'which of your contacts have a Facebook account'). If someone you know has a Facebook account you can search them and add them as a friend. Once you add them as a friend, they have to confirm that they know you and would like to add you as a friend. The same goes when someone adds you as a friend. You have to confirm that you know them.

When you are friends with someone, you can write on their wall, and they can write on yours. When you write on someone's wall, it is visible to everyone who is friends with them. You can also send a private message, meaning only the person or people you send it to can view it.

Also on Facebook, you can upload videos and photos for your friends to see. In the settings page of your account you can choose who sees your photos and videos. You can set it as private, meaning only your friends can view them or you can set it as public, meaning everyone can see them.

You can also add applications to your Facebook where you can play games or you can add a Christmas Tree to your profile.  You can also become a fan of a show, movie, or celebrity.

To register for a free Facebook account you need to have a valid e-mail address.
