Shaw Community Hub Information

The Shaw Community Hub is a 440 sq. ft. meeting facility with state of the art technology including a SMART Board, LifeSize Videoconferencing unit, Acer laptop (2010 model), wireless Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and a large screen LCD-TV. The room features a modular table and ergonomic chairs that can accommodate various setups. The facility also has a kitchen area with a refrigerator and coffeemaker available. Presenting
Just bring your slideshows or documents on a USB key and you'll be able to open them on the laptop attached to the SMART Board. The laptop has the latest versions of Microsoft Office Professional 2010 and LibreOffice installed (they are able to open files from previous versions). SMART Meeting Pro is also available for using the SMART Board as a virtual whiteboard.

Videoconferencing
We have our LifeSize videoconferencing equipment connected to our LCD-TV. Just bring the IP address of the videconferencing unit you're connecting to and we'll be able to set you up. If you would prefer to use Skype, it is available on the laptop, which can be set-up to use an available HD Logitech WebCam.

Fees (effective May 1, 2011):

Non-Profit Groups: $40/meeting up to 4 hours, $80/meeting up to 8 hours, $120/day max.

For Profit Groups: $50/meeting up to 4 hours, $100/meeting up to 8 hours, $150/day max.

Teleconferencing Fee: $30
Videoconferencing Fee:
$75
After-Hours Fee
(for use outside normal library hours of operation): $25

Please note that HST will be charged in addition to the rates noted above.
