In another good news story for the proposed Fort Frances Public Library and Technology Centre, the town received official word yesterday it will be getting funding from FedNor it had applied for more than a year ago.
Fort Frances CAO Mark McCaig confirmed the project will be getting $170,000 from FedNor.

This funding is to be used to purchase equipment for the technology centre.
Combined with the “Building Canada” funding in the amount of $1.967 million that was announced Friday, as well as the $1.6 million from the Ministry of Culture, $437,692 from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, and more than $850,000 in pledges to the local “Building for the Future” fundraising campaign, some $5 million now has been contributed to the library project.
“When it rains, it pours,” said McCaig.
